Time for a new nail design! I’m a really big fan of black nail polish and other dark colors. So this time I chose a black design. And as told many times before I’m into simple nail designs. That’s why I only chose two colors and simple triangles for a more sophisticated look . Plus it doesn’t take much time and you don’t need to be very handy to do this.
I chose a black and shiny nail polish and a metallic rosé pink color. The black polish is ‘Lady in black’ from OPI and the pink one is ‘Buy me a cameo’ from Essie. I really like how they match together. I just started by painting my nails in black and let it dry for a while. Then I taped striping tape on all of my nails in the form of an ‘X’. They’re not al shaped the same, because I wanted them to have different sizes and forms. When taped I filled the triangle whit the pink rosé polish. It was a little hard because the Essie brush is a little bigger than other nail polish brushes. But I'm sure everyone can do this because I did this after I did one of those Kayla Itsines workouts for my arms. I could barely lift my arms but still managed to get the pink color neatly between the taped lines ;-) When done I removed the striping tape before the polish was dry and added a topcoat.
I have to admit that I don’t always use a topcoat. When my nails are simply polished in one color I mostly don’t use topcoat. But when using striping tape I prefer to add a topcoat because I don’t want it to look like it’s a sticker or something taped on my nail. The topcoat makes it more even.
This nail art would look good in black and white too I guess. But I recently did a black and white nail design and I’m glad I chose this metallic pink color, because it looks so cool together!
Have a nice weekend!
