This week was my birthday and my friends from school gave me a new nail polish! Thanks girls! We had a presentation that afternoon, so we had a little brunch before to celebrate my birthday. The color they gave me was a nice sparkling silver, from my favorite brand OPI. I couldn’t wait to use it for a nail art design. I used it with another color that I already had for a while, but I never got to really use it because it’s very light.
The colors I used are ‘My pointe exactly’ and ‘Haven’t the foggiest’. The last one is the one I got as a present for my birthday. I started with ‘My point exactly’ as a base, but I had to apply around four or five layers to get it this way. But my nail line stayed visible, so I decided to do an ombre effect with the silver color on my nail tips, so you couldn’t see the line any more. For the ombre effect I used a simple sponge, the same sort I use for cleaning :-) I simply cut of a small piece and apply polish directly on the sponge. Then I carefully press it on my nails starting on the top and getting a little to the middle. You can go as far or close as you want it. As a finishing touch I polished the nails on my ring finger completely with the silver polish.
I like to do this mostly with glitter polishes because I like the effect the glitters have more. It really is an easy way get your nails done a little more special. The only downside is you will spill nail polish on your finger with the sponge, so you’ll have to clean them before applying the top coat.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it! :-)
