When standing outside of your home in the cold rain, trying to find the right key can be so frustrating. But when you color code your keys it won’t take that long anymore to find the right one. You can use your favorite nail polishes to give them some color. Even when you don’t have that many keys it’s fun just to make them look pretty!
Key in dark blue/purple with subtle glitters:
I simply applied two layers of OPI cosmo with a twist.
Key in soft pink with white dots:
I applied two layers of OPI ‘Your web or mine’. When dry I used a dotting pen to make the white dots, OPI ‘Alpine snow’ was used.
Key in pastel blue with blue circles:
The pastel blue is ‘rain drop’ from NYC and the circles are OPI ‘I saw U saw we saw Warsaw’. There’s also a matte top coat applied over the base color. Then I used a straw to make the blue circles on the key. I just dipped the end of the straw in the polish and then used it as a stamp to make the circles.
Key with pink glitters:
I added a base coat in pink, which you can’t see anymore. But I chose a pink base just to be sure that the key was fully covered. After applying the polish I immediately added glitter all over the key and let it dry. Then I applied a top coat to make sure the glitter will stay on it’s place.

Once again patience is key here ;-). You can only polish on side at a time because you need to let it dry before flipping it over. Unless you’re willing to hold the key the entire time. Because I had four keys to paint, I could just paint one side of every key and when finished the last of four, the first one was already dry.
I hope the polish stays on for a while and the pink glitters wont be found everywhere in my handbag. But I’m sure everyone will find his or her right key much easier than before! :-)
