I have this new bag and I’m so in love with it I decided to dedicate a nail design to it! It’s a very large bag because I always have to carry so much stuff around. It’s pretty bordeaux and I really like to wear this color. I also have many polishes in this color but I don’t think I ever used one before on the blog so it was about time! The combination with the green color looks so good and I think that I came pretty close to the design of the bag.
For this design I used China Glaze ‘Prey tell’ for the bordeaux and it’s a really dark one. I applied two layers of the polish. Then I used Gosh 548 Green Hawaii for the green chevrons. I bought this color a long time ago because I really liked the color. But I haven’t used it a lot because I thought it was a weird color for nail polish, which is sad of course. For the chevrons I used tape, but I made them myself. I tried to just cut the tape, but that didn’t work out well. The scissors were sticking to the tape and breaking the tape in stead of cutting. So I just taped the tape onto a used sticker paper, so it would be easier to cut them. That went really well! I didn’t use all the ones that I’ve cut, but since they’re sticking to the paper I can use them later! The tape was easily applied and removed from my nails. I used a sponge to apply the green polish over the tape because I wanted is to still show a little bordeaux. That’s because the chevrons on my bag are a mix of green and bordeaux and I wanted to make it look as similar as possible :-)
Not sure what you guys think but I think I came pretty close to the bag. I like this nail design anyway and I surely will try it again with other colors. And don’t worry I promise next week it won’t be chevrons ;-)
