Friyay!
Weekend! Time to glam it up a little with one of my favorite creations. Black matte nails with a golden touch. For this look I used Ciaté ladylike luxe. It’s a pretty and sparkly gold and has good coverage. The black color is from OPI’s Gwen Stefani’s collection and is called “4 in the morning”. It already has a matte finish, so you don’t need to use a matte topcoat. You’ll also need some striper tape to make the pattern.
I started with one coat of the ladylike luxe polish on my ring finger. Then when it’s dry, I tape two pieces of striper over the golden polish like an ‘X’. After that I cut even smaller pieces of tape and make triangles in every opening of the taped ‘X’. When that’s done it’s time for one layer of 4 in the morning. Before it’s dry I remove the striper tape, otherwise the tape breaks the nail polish. In this case I don’t add a topcoat, because it will ruin the matte effect. But with other colors, you can add a topcoat for a longer finish.
You might thinks it’s a little too much effort to put the striper tape precisely, but there’s an easy solution for this. There are stickers with this pattern, it’ll save you some time! You can find this pattern (and many more) over here. You can find striper tape on this website too.
Feel free to comment or share your creations when you try this yourself or made a variation of this look. I’ll be happy to hear from you! :)
